This BPL26 battery is the 9-cell version of the original 6 cell VGP-BPS26 battery. The 3 additional cells in this battery pack will protrude to the bottom of the laptop about 1 inch. These extra cells will provide an extra 1-2 hours of run time for your battery in addition to the standard run time of 2-3 hours. If you prefer the 6 cell version go our Sony BPS6 battery.
