You can extend the life of your battery with these tips:

• Fully charge your laptop before first use. Your new battery may have to recharge 5 times before being fully warmed-up
• Try to recharge your battery before letting it get to 20%
• Don't run your battery on empty and never let it get below 3% as it can damage the battery cells
• Exercise your battery by letting it go unplugged at least once a week

How to extend Gateway NE Series battery run time?

This battery will last up to 2.5 hours with a charge. You can get even longer run times with these tips:

• Reduce the brightness of your laptop screen. This is the main drain on your Gateway NE series laptop!
• Remove any CD or DVD as the disk drive will continue to consume power, even if not in use
• Turn off your Wifi or Bluetooth if not in use
• Remove any devices plugged into your USB or other ports
• Close any unused programs or software
• Increase your memory to at least 4 Gigabytes. This will create less work for your computer and give your battery better mileage.
