This MacBook A1417 battery is compatible with the 15" MacBook Pro Retina models A1398, MC975LL/A MC976LL/A ME665LL/A ME664LL/A MD975 and MD976. Compatibility Note: Apple produced two MacBooks that use the A1398 model number. This is the internally located battery and is only compatible with the Mid 2012 MacBook Pro and Early 2013 models. This Mid-2012 MacBook Pro 15" A1417 battery is located inside the laptop and requires you to remove the bottom of the laptop chassis to replace it. We include the two special Apple screwdrivers to remove the battery. The original battery is also glued to the chassis to keep it in place. Apply a conservative amount of isopropyl rubbing alcohol on the adhesive to easily remove the glue.
